Princess is now 4! We had to reschedule her Tinkerbell party because we had a house full of sick people. The girls had hand, foot, and mouth, my hubby had pink eye and a cold, and I had a cold and an ear infection. It was a fun few weeks! We had Princess's birthday party a week later than planned. She had a great time! And so did Mouse. She really loved having all of the big kids around!
Here is the invitation I made for the party:
The inside reads: Please fly on in to Pixie Hollow to celebrate Princess's 4th Birthday!
Princess and I made paper butterflies using this template. She wanted the party to be pink and purple, so most of the decorations were in line with that.
Originally I was going to make mini sandwiches, fruit, and veggies, but Princess wanted pizza. So we had pizza, a veggie tray, and fruit salad. I cut up a whole watermelon and made a fruit bowl from the outside of the watermelon. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the food.
Princess wanted cupcakes (pink and purple ones to be exact) instead of a cake, so I made these with vanilla buttercream frosting:

I found the chocolate mold on ebay that I used to make the Tinkerbell toppers.
The kids painted birdhouses as their "tinkering" activity. I picked up the birdhouses at Joann's for $1 each. We used FolkArt Acrylic paint and then sprayed the houses with a sealcoat (Americana acrylic sealer/finisher) to waterproof the houses once the kids were finished. The kids LOVED this...but what 4-year old doesn't like to paint?!? We used the hubby's old white shirts to keep the kids from getting paint all over their party clothes.
Lastly, Princess begged me for a pinata while we were at Target, so she got one. All of the kids enjoyed this as well. We were not really set up for a pinata, so the hubby held it out on the end of a rake and the kids used a plastic kids' shovel to hit the pinata (kind of like something you'd see on America's Funniest Videos). Wish I had a picture of that! The hubby nearly got hit a few times!
The favors for the party were the birdhouses, loot from the pinata (candy, bouncy balls, stickers, etc), and a goody bag with more stickers, handmade coloring books, Tinkerbell PEZ (from World Market) and mini colored pencils. We're so happy that Princess's friends joined us for such a wonderful day!
